New trick has been discovered to enable RCS messaging on any Android phones

RCS has been getting a lot of attention this year. On June 7th, Google announced that it would be taking over RCS and also announced that it will release RCS services to Android users in the US and France rather than waiting for their carrier to support it. With Google speeding up their work to release RCS Services, a new trick has been posted, which enables users to use the RCS services.

As posted by Reddit, there is a new trick that allows you to use the RCS services in any Android application. Many reports say that the steps posted in the Reddit are working in the US on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and even with other carriers around the world. The requirements for enabling the RCS service is the latest beta version 5.2 of the app and turning off the mobile Wi-Fi. After setting these functions, do the following steps to enable the feature.

  • First, open the Activity Launcher
  • Go to the ‘Recent activities’ and then choose ‘All activities ‘
  • Find Android messages
  • Tap it and scroll it until you find ‘Set RCS flags’
  • Tap on it and select ‘ACS Url’ and in the menu select ‘’
  • Then follow the setup given in the Android message, if it doesn’t work, go to the next step
  • Clear the data of ‘Carrier services,’ and force stop the ‘ Android messages’
  • Repeat the steps from 1 to 4
  • And select the option OTP pattern and click on the menu ‘Your\sMessenger\sverification\scode\sis\sG-(\d{6}).’

After completing all the above steps successfully, you will get a prompt similar to the official client to turn on the RCS. This service gives us a taste of how future messaging will be like. By enabling this feature, you will be upgraded tor a messaging app, which includes typing indicators and shows us the read recipients, sending over Wi-Fi and mobile data, photos with high resolution, group getting, and business messaging.

But, Google has not said anything about how long this trick will be available. So there is no assurance on how long it will work. As for RCS, it depends on both the phone and network side, just like the SMS service. RCS is a next-generation messaging service that enables many features, including high-quality attachments.

Google product manager director said, “We fundamentally believe that communication, especially messaging, is highly personal, and users have a right to privacy for their communications. And we’re fully committed to finding a solution for our users”. Google says users simply need to upgrade to the RCS chat. That is, when you open up the Android messages app, upgrade to the new feature.

For RCS users, things that should be known are; firstly, click yes when you see the chat prompt. Then if you see ‘chat’ on the app, it signifies RCS service is enabled and that you are talking with someone who has RCS. Google says that regardless of whether the carrier or Google provides the service, it will work with all the phones that will support the RCS universal profile.

Google says that it will delete all the information as soon as it is delivered to you from the server. Finally, unless you are in the UK and France, it is still not known when it will be released in your country. And also, the main difference between other chat app and the RCS chat app is that there is no database of who has it and not.
